Blog Assignment 4: What is the relation between economy and globalization? - ZHONG XIN

Summary The authors present the history and global distribution of transnational corporations. The early emergence of trading firms in Europe played a key role in the evolution of the international economy. However, manufacturing firms did not begin to produce abroad until the second half of the 19th century. The number of global TNCs has grown dramatically over the last 50 years, and despite stringent ownership standards, some 61,000 TNCs now produce internationally in over 900,000 foreign subsidiaries.
