What is the relation between culture and globalization?

1) Summary

Globalization is a broad and general trend that does not appear in one area. Rather than seeing something as a priority, it is necessary to recognize that it is a complex process. So what is culture. Culture is not just born and died as time passes, but it can be seen as an activity that individual humans do to find the meaning of life during the process. As time passes, culture is being connected at the village level, the country level, and the world level. The connection of cultures at the world level is that there is a foothold for each person to experience various cultures. In other words, anyone can share the cultures of Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas and give meaning to their own lives.
But the reality is different. The culture of each region and country is usually not evaluated equally and equally. Cultural imperialism, cultural toadyism, and Ethnocentrism can be viewed as examples of theories. In the process of globalization, the superiority and inferiority of each country are divided, and the superiority and inferiority of culture are divided as it is. In this process, small countries often lose their culture. For this reason, many movements to protect their own culture took place during the colonial rule.
Religion is the biggest conflict when culture spreads around the world. This is so important that Ethnocentrism logic is more important than each other's understanding that it still appears as a war. In the trend of modern society, where interdependence is growing, such religious conflicts seem inevitable. In response, Karl Marx also presented a critical view of religion in the Communist Declaration.
Most of humanity lives locally, but we are changing rapidly through globalization. Except for some other political ideologies, they live in a world where freedom before residence is large, and this can be seen as a deterritorialization. Until now, culture has been an inseparable concept from the territory. Like local culture, the concept is still prevalent. However, the restraint is gradually being lifted. Various technologies influenced this process. Through TV, cultures from all over the world spread to rural corners, and as we entered a capitalist society, cultures in various fields were shared through a maximized consumption culture. It can be said that the development of media and communication technology has had a great influence on cultural globalization.
It is also important to clarify and reconcile the global community more broadly with the attachment and value of cultural differences to address the problems arising from cultural globalization. At this time, it is necessary to think from a universalist perspective. It is true that this part is difficult in an exclusive culture such as religion, but it is necessary to move forward while solving the problem of forming cultural identity. In addition, I think it is necessary to discuss exclusive concepts such as race, class, and gender. The concept used for this is cultural relativism, which requires an attitude to understand and evaluate in the special environment and historical context of the society.

2)Interesting point

I already knew that dilemma exists in cultural globalization, but it was interesting to see how to solve it. It was new to explain problems such as the destruction of local identity through human universalism.

3)Discussion

Personally, I feel bad for the way cultural globalization has been achieved. In the case of Korea, first of all, cultural exploitation took place through Japanese colonial era, and after independence, which had to be restored, they only tried to accept newspapers, evaluating the past culture as useless for transformation. As changes were made quickly, they failed to keep the culture and traditions of the past. In the case of Japan, it was a powerhouse than Korea, and it could afford to spend time and money on culture and tradition. Korea could not afford to keep this part because "survival" of living right now was a bigger problem than the culture that gives meaning to life. It is said that it was one of the most poor countries in the world during the Korean War.
In the end, the reality is that it was urgent to accept the culture of other countries amid rapid development. Then, how should we look at the culture that is disappearing amid cultural globalization?
