Blog Assignment 1 "What is Globalzation?"--- JIA MENGZHUO

 Summary

The question of what globalization is is both general and specific. It is general because it almost inevitably encompasses a range of disciplinary perspectives and worldviews from different parts of the world. It is specific because we are concerned with defining the characteristics of so-called globalization.

Globalization is a controversial concept. There is a great deal of bias in the conception of globalization from one civilizational setting to another. Globalization is pluralistic, not a single globalization process.

General process parameters of globalization It is widely accepted that the single most important defining characteristic of globalization - whether as a very long term process or a relatively short one - is increased connectivity (sometimes called interconnectivity).Raising global awareness proceeds in complex ways and, arguably, goes hand in hand with increased connectivity.

In Huntington's argument, the clash of civilizations would first and foremost revolve around profoundly different conceptions of the nature and purpose of human life.

Despite attempts to spread the consumption of goods or services around the world in a relatively homogeneous manner, brands must be adapted to local conditions. Moreover, the general pattern of such adaptation may constitute a kind of homogeneity. The expansion of capitalism around the world seems to involve a cultural theme of elevation.

The main aspects of globalization are indeed cultural, social, political and economic. It should be emphasized that, in referring to the social dimension, we include the communication dimension. Moreover, this list does not suggest that any one of these dimensions is more important than another. Nor should one insist on excluding factors such as environmental or ecological change. Ultimately, human concern for the environment is part of contemporary human culture.

The concept of glocalization has a particularly important set of implications. One can intelligently answer the question, "What happens after globalization?" The answer is that globalization involves a powerful shift toward a single city, the world as a place.Glocalization, as a homogenizing force, will theoretically be a perpetual process until everything in the world is surrounded by it.

In conclusion, we have tried to describe globalization as being centred on the following points. First, globalization consists mainly of two main directional trends, namely, increased global connectivity and increased global awareness. Consciousness does not mean consensus, but simply a shared sense of the world as a whole. Secondly, globalization has a particular form which, for all intents and purposes, has been realized through the establishment of the United Nations Organization. In the United Nations, globalization is focused on four points of reference: the nation-State; world politics; the individual; and humanity. Thirdly, globalization consists of four main aspects of human life: cultural, social, political and economic.

Intersting aspect

It is interesting to note that it has been found that Despite attempts to spread the consumption of goods or services around the world in a relatively homogeneous manner, there is a need to adapt brands to local conditions. In my opinion, this is also the charm of globalization.

Discussion

The expansion of capitalism around the world has of seeming necessity involved the elevation of the cultural themes. What examples do you know?
