Blog Project Assignment 2 - Hofstede's variable : Choi Min Joon

Hofstede's variable is an important indicator for understanding cultural differences between countries. Based on this, when comparing Korea and the United States, both countries have strong individualistic tendencies. On the contrary, in the uncertainty avoidance index, South Korea scored high and the United States scored low. In addition, in terms of long-term orientation, Korea is a long-term orientation culture, and the United States is a short-term orientation culture.

In this way, criticism also exists in Hofstede's variable, an indicator suitable for comparing the two countries. It has the disadvantage of simplifying the complex theme of culture by reducing it to only six dimensions. As a result, there is a risk of an "urgent generalization error'. In addition, there is a disadvantage that there are few samples due to insufficient research subjects, which can lead to errors in representativeness.
