1) Summarize  Tomlinson makes the point that globalization is a multidimensional process, taking place simultaneously within the spheres of the economy, of politics, of technological developments  particularly media and communications technologies - of environmental change and of culture.  Because of the network of world connections he examined at the time, he could not find a place for global culture in the economic, political, military, social, technological, and environmental explanations of the past. He believes that there is a multidimensional "globalization" in which the cultural dimension is an important area that needs to be studied separately.
