Extra credit blog: China and globalization - Kim Minji

Is globalization good for China? And is China good for globalization?

For China, globalization has played an important role in economic growth. China has taken an important position in global trade by expanding its market through globalization and attracting foreign investment. In the past, there was a perception that Chinese products were low-priced and of poor quality, but today China has the technology to make products that meet international standards and is targeting the global market with its own quality brand. According to the "2021 Global BrandZ" survey conducted by global market research company Kantar, 17 of the top 100 global brands are also Chinese brands. In this process, industrialization developed, jobs increased, and the standard of life of many Chinese citizens increased.

Meanwhile, China has also contributed significantly to globalization. The huge market size, labor force, manufacturing capacity, and foreign investment contributed to increasing the connectivity of the global economy. China has emerged as the center of the global economy and played an important role in manufacturing and exports. In addition, initiatives such as China's participation in global trade and the "Way of Han Hope" initiative have helped lay the foundation for various regions and develop infrastructure. These contributions show that China is actively participating in globalization and contributing to global economic development.
