Online blog writing assignment 1 / What is globalization? ZHANG ZEHUA

Globalization is the political, economic and trade interdependence between countries. The main dimensions are culture, society, politics and economy. Much thinking about globalization has been undertaken by sociologists, and the neglect of the social dimension is quite obvious. Many sociologists, who are major participants (some would even say, initiators) in the globalization debate, tend to overlook very important social aspects of the overall topic.

Globalization is a process challenged by the nation-state, which should be considered an aspect of globalization. Without the existence of nation-states, we would almost certainly not be talking about globalization. The debates in many societies about their identity are an excellent example of the centrality of the nation-state in any discussion of globalization. The concept of national identity itself has been globalized with increasing but fitful intensity since the early 20th century. The multicultural or multiethnic nature of most societies has become a matter of significant political debate. Despite nativist and right-wing movements, forms of multiculturalism appear to be becoming the global norm.

Contemporary globalization is mainly reflected in four aspects: internationalization, liberalization, universalization and globalization. Internationalization describes the political, economic and other differences between different nations and countries across national boundaries. Liberalization is often used by economists, while generalization is used more by cultural researchers and mainly refers to specific values: a more global world lies in a tendency towards cultural homogeneity. Globalization involves the dissemination of information and cultural security issues.

For example, 1.some schools offer international courses, emphasizing that students choose and exchange courses around the world that suit their personal interests and abilities. Cultivate students' international vision and cross-cultural communication skills. By participating in international courses, students can understand the similarities and differences between different cultures. Such knowledge and skills are also essential to adapt to the challenges and opportunities of globalization.2. Coca-Cola Company, one of the largest beverage companies in the world, has successfully entered the global market and achieved great success by expanding its market, promoting its brand, and improving product quality. Coca-Cola failed in the Indian market because they did not consider local cultural and religious factors.
