When do you think globalization started?

 Globalization is a complex phenomenon involving many aspects such as economy, politics, and culture. It refers to the process of increasing interconnection and influence among countries in the world in the fields of economy, politics, culture and other fields.


Globalization can be traced back to several different eras. For example, some believe that globalization can be traced back to the opening of new shipping routes in the late 15th century, a period that marked the emergence of capitalism and the initial development of international trade. Others believe that globalization can be traced back to the Bretton Woods Conference after World War II, which laid the foundation for the world monetary system and marked the formation of the global economic system.


In any case, the onset of globalization was a gradual process, not a sudden event. Before globalization began, there were relatively few connections and influences between countries around the world. However, with the expansion of international trade, technological advancement and convenient transportation, the connections and influence between countries around the world have gradually strengthened.


Globalization has had a profound impact on the world's economy, politics and culture. First of all, globalization has promoted the development of international trade, making it easier for goods and services to circulate around the world. This not only improves people's living standards, but also promotes the development of the world economy.


Secondly, globalization also promotes cultural exchange and integration. Exchanges and integration between different cultures allow people to better understand each other's cultures and values, help eliminate misunderstandings and prejudices, and promote world peace and development.


Finally, globalization has also promoted changes in the world political landscape. Globalization has made countries more closely connected, and international cooperation and coordination need to be strengthened to deal with common problems, such as climate change, non-traditional security threats, etc. This will help promote the improvement and development of the global governance system.


However, globalization also brings some challenges and problems. For example, globalization has exacerbated economic inequality and uneven distribution of resources. Some countries and regions are unable to fully enjoy the benefits of globalization due to geographical, historical and cultural reasons. In addition, globalization has also brought about some non-traditional security threats, such as terrorism, network security, etc. These issues require global cooperation and coordination to address.


Globalization is a complex phenomenon with both positive and challenging sides. We need to recognize the importance of globalization and also pay attention to the problems and challenges it brings. In this process, we need to strengthen international cooperation and coordination and promote the improvement and development of the global governance system to achieve common prosperity and sustainable development.
