What is Globalization?


Globalization refers to the process of increasing interconnectedness and interdependence among countries across the globe. It involves the exchange of goods, services, ideas, cultures, and technologies, facilitated by advancements in transportation and communication. This phenomenon transcends geographical and political boundaries, creating a more integrated world economy and society.


The impacts of globalization are both positive and negative. On the positive side, it has enabled greater economic opportunities, cultural exchange, and access to new technologies and knowledge. However, it also brings challenges such as cultural homogenization, environmental degradation, and economic inequality, as some nations and communities struggle to compete on a global scale.


In today’s world, globalization is a defining characteristic of international relations and economic development. It shapes how businesses operate, how people interact across borders, and how societies evolve. Understanding globalization is essential to navigating its complexities and leveraging its benefits while mitigating its drawbacks.
