Your experiences in taking English-Language Class, Learning Wiki Technology, and Adjusting to Life in Korea
I am an international student from China and I am currently studying at Hanyang University in Korea. Not only did I have the opportunity to learn more about my expertise, but I also had the privilege of taking an English course that specifically taught me how to use Wikipedia effectively. Through this blog, I would like to share with you my experience and experience in learning English and using wiki technology. When I first started this class, I was full of expectations and nervousness about my English ability. The course is mainly focused on lectures and interactions, allowing me to learn English from a variety of perspectives. Most fascinating of all, this course focuses specifically on teaching how to use Wikipedia for academic research and material editing, an area I've never been involved in before. Cultural differences and language barriers were two of the challenges I faced while studying abroad. Although I didn't get used to it at first, I got used to the rhythm of life here with the help of the international student fraternity and Korean students on campus. The food, efficient public transportation and warm accommodation in Korea also greatly enriched my study abroad experience. In the English course, we not only learn the language, but also have an in-depth understanding of Wikipedia's use. Wiki technology is not just a source of information, but a collaborative platform. We learned how to edit and review articles, cite reliable sources, and work with volunteers around the world on wiki projects. These skills are a huge plus for my academic research and future career. Based on my personal experience, I think the following points can help improve the international student experience: Schools should provide more language support services such as language partnership programs and additional language courses.
Organize more lectures and activities on Korean culture to help international students better understand and integrate with the local culture. Add courses on how to use modern information technologies such as wiki technology to improve student research and learning efficiency. Encourage international students to participate in more social activities both on and off campus, and expand their social circle through clubs, sports events and academic seminars.
