Blog Assignment 3: "What is the relation between politics and globalization?" -ZHANG RUIQING

Summary

Global culture exists between states, global civil society, and political movements. And global civil society has an impact on global politics. Political globalization gives rise to complex forms of conflict, dislocation and fluid politics. Scholars argue that these dimensions of globalization form the global polity. This article challenges that political globalization does not lead to a new global governance order or world society, but rather to transnational political action that challenges neoliberal politics.

In addition, the paper discusses the transformation of states and changes in nationality and citizenship in the context of globalization. The article rejects the idea of the decline of the state under the global market or global governance structures, and instead emphasizes the continuous transformation of the state. States remain powerful actors, but exist in a more globalized world and are not fully in control. In the case of Europe, European integration led to a gradual erosion of national sovereignty, but it also saved the state. The article also refers to the independent supervisory authorities owned by the European Union, which function in a number of areas and form a regulatory type of governance.

Due to the conditions of globalization, the link between the state and the national community has become unstable, the sovereign control of the national community over the state has weakened, and the sovereignty of the state has been lost to a large extent.

Discussion

Many countries have taken relatively deserved measures in the face of globalization, and it is curious how these Asian countries have responded politically to the phenomenon of Western-dominated globalization.

Comments

  1. 1. Adhere to the principle of independence: Asian countries should formulate policies and strategies that are in line with their own development based on their own national conditions and actual conditions, and should not be subject to any external forces. At the same time, we should strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries to jointly resist pressure and challenges from Western countries.
    2. Strengthen economic cooperation: Asian countries can strengthen economic cooperation, establish regional economic communities, promote trade liberalization and investment facilitation, and promote the process of economic globalization. This can not only improve the competitiveness of the country's economy, but also drive the development of other countries and regions.
    3. Maintain cultural diversity: Asian countries should maintain and maintain the development trend of cultural diversity, respect the culture and traditions of different countries and regions, and avoid cultural homogenization problems caused by globalization. At the same time, we can also enhance understanding and friendship between people of various countries through cultural exchange activities.
    4. Actively participate in international affairs: Asian countries should actively participate in international affairs, play their role and influence, and contribute to maintaining world peace and development. This is not only conducive to the development of the country, but also conducive to promoting the healthy development of globalization.
When dealing with Western-led globalization, Asian countries need to adhere to the principle of independence, strengthen economic cooperation, maintain cultural diversity, and actively participate in international affairs to achieve their own sustainable development and promote the healthy process of globalization.
