The title 'Living in a la carte world' is similar to how Chinese people view European oil paintings, which is somewhat abstract. Whether it is "European and American leaders tend to view the world through competing ideologies and political systems, or in such systems, whether you support or oppose the West," or the results of public opinion surveys, both reflect a focus on how to develop pragmatically. For example, the values of life in China and Russia that Westerners view; The issue of political alliance among Westerners; War and peace issues; The issue of Western living standards and values; The question of whether a free society can survive; The competition between the leaders of Europe and the United States over their respective ideologies and political systems; They talked about winning the "global south" of the West and supporting a rule-based order to confront their challengers; In terms of human rights and so on. The focus of all these issues cannot be separated from the influence of traditional and modern cultures on people, as well as the influence of their respective ideologies on their living trends and ways.

For people around the world, European countries seem very attractive in terms of lifestyle and value systems. However, the competition between major and medium-sized powers, as well as the ultimate goal in a world of war, still relies on the hard power confrontation of interests and values. Just like Russia's war against Ukraine and the Israel Hamas war, both will have a more direct impact on Europe than the United States. Russia's victory in Ukraine will be seen as a survival threat by most Central and Eastern European countries, while the Middle East conflict may threaten the internal stability of Western European countries with a large minority population. So whether it's the "geopolitical EU" or the European ideal of security as shown in public opinion surveys. Both are hovering between two opposing strategies.

The world today focuses on the diversification of Sino US relations, China's dual cycle, and the United States' industrial policies. European policy makers should not stick to a fixed path, but need to find partners suitable for cooperative development and achieving win-win results on key issues in this ordering world. Because the world is undergoing unprecedented changes in a century, China and the United States have two options: one is to strengthen unity and cooperation, work together to address global challenges, and promote world security and prosperity. Another approach is to embrace zero sum thinking, incite opposition between factions, and lead the world towards turbulence and division. Two choices represent two directions that will determine the future of humanity and the future of Earth. It is unrealistic for both China and the United States to stand on the side of changing each other's stance, and the consequences of conflict and confrontation cannot be borne by anyone. Competition among major powers cannot solve the problems faced by China, the United States, and the world. This earth can accommodate China and the United States. The success of China and the United States is an opportunity for each other. Mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are the common direction of world development.
